The latest from Laura at the RO is that the vet Dr Pierre Bester has been to see Echo and Tshidi (nicknamed Sass for her personality). It seems Echo’s pelvis is asymetrical. They are trying to source a portable X-ray to see whether their concerns have any bases. They will also put up some scaffolding and ropes to help lift Echo to her feet at least 3 times a day to get her mibile. Echo is on milk now as well to help get more nutrients into her system. She is urinating and passing faeces. She is a fighter for sure and we hope that the recovery period is quick!
Tshidi seems a little colicky. Sand induced colic. Prob inhaled prior to her rescue. Quite lethargic currently but she is still drinking. The RO is treating the colic and are hoping to flush out the sand. She was introduced to Nyankani today and it went very smoothly. Tshidi considers him her best buddy and snuggles him at any opportunity. Follows him everywhere.
The movement is good for her as well.
The staff have been up all night, every night, with both girls to make sure they are getting the best treatment at all times. We are truly grateful for all the love, work and effort that the staff have shown all our babies but especially these 2 high care babies. Thank you so much.
