Little Tshidi, seen here with Laura and Jamie of TRO, after her long operation last night. The operation was to remove the sand that she had inhaled before capture.
The vets opened Tshidi’s abdomen and did remove most of the sand. However it was a long operation and it has taken its toll on her. Her red blood cell count is low. Tshidi also has developed pneumonia. She has lost a lot of condition. However we are really hoping and praying that she will pull through and recover 100%. Laura will keep me posted as she is with Tshidi 24/7. Jamie has had to leave to write an exam.
Many thanks to Saving the Survivors, Dr Steenkamp, and everyone involved at Onderstepoort, for all you have done and are doing to assist Tshidi. Thank you Laura and Jamie for all you have meant to Tshidi. For giving her love and kindness at this scary time. For taking care of her every need. There are no words that can express my gratitude. We hope and pray that our little fighter gets the chance to grow up and live like any other free and safe wild animal!
