Sadly another Rhino poached in Madikwe! This seemed to have happened 2 or 3 days ago if we go by the carcass. Luckily her calf was spotted and was rescued. She, ‘Thula’ meaning ‘quiet one’, was found with a bullet through her hump! Thula is about 8 months old.
The wound was treated by Dr Gerhardus Scheepers. After the treatment it was decided to fly little Thula part way to the orphanage. Thanks to Nico Jacobs and Rhino 911 for coming to the rescue!
