A few months ago we lost an iconic and legendary elephant, Amarula. Amarula was one of the 6 elephant bulls that were brought into Pilanesberg to calm down the young bull elephants that were initially brought into Pilanesberg. The young bulls were killing rhinos in a show of premature dominance. Once the 6 older bulls were brought in from Kruger the young bulls completely calmed down and stopped their dominant behavior and killing spree. Amarula was the second last of the elephant bulls still in Pilanesberg. Losing him was incredibly sad but part of the course of nature. He was known for his shenanigans in Pilanesberg. Much loved and feared all at the same time, he was a master of the Pilanesberg roads. A legend and a icon. In Amarula’s honour we have brought out a range of items for our fundraising projects, 100% for the Park. All items are available with Fortune who represents the Pilanesberg National Park & Wildlife Trust at Pilanesberg Centre. There is also an online option on our website, the link is posted below.
