The little rescued rhino made it through the night for which we are super grateful. We have had a report that a rhino cow was seen about 1 km from where we found the calf, with placenta still attached. We do not know it is this calf’s mom, and if so, why she abandoned him. What we do know is that he would not have made it through the night without her at his side, or alternatively being rescued.

The Vet is monitoring the little lad and sourcing equine colostrum to supplement him. We will give him a name soon as it’s a bit awkward without one. We have a name in mind but we also ask the person that found the calf if they would like to name him.

Thank you everyone for the amazing support and for caring!
