Tale, our female cheetah mom, has a cub that has an injury. The injury was reported by park visitors. Vet Gerhardus Scheepers was asked to assist the Park to capture, assess and treat the young cheetah. The cub was successfully darted and treated. The wound on the right rear leg is rather large and there is skin missing from the area of the wound. Dr Scheepers did what he could to close the wound as much as possible. The area was also wrapped to allow the medication applied to take as much effect as possible before the cheetah pulls of the bandages. Park management will monitor the cheetahs progress, and park visitors please feel free to call in any sightings if you do see the cheetahs. This will assist us to track their whereabouts. We are hoping and praying for a full recovery but also understand that the injured cheetah is compromised while the wound heals. Thank you to all the public who waited patiently and gave the team space to work. For more videos of the procedure please click on the link below to the Facebook post.
