The Wilderness Foundation encourages, plans and manages wild lands and wilderness, uplifts the knowledge and lives of historically disadvantaged citizens and stimulates an environmental ethos amongst current and future leaders.
The organisation was founded in 1972. It has pioneered many projects and initiatives aimed at demonstrating wilderness and wild lands as a positive, integral force in developing social and environmental sustainability in South Africa.
