Thanks to the tourists that reported the injured rhino in the park. Today we managed to find him and treat him. The wound is not a bullet wound, it is a very large open wound and lots of scuff marks around his face, possibly from a fight with another rhino or elephant. All wounds were cleaned and treated by Dr Gerhardus Scheepers who assured us the bull will make a full recovery. No muscle damage or permanent damage thank goodness. Thanks to all that assisted and thanks to our Bathawk pilots Lené Hurter and Keaton Howes for finding the injured Rhino from the air. Thanks Dolph Vd Merwe for coming out to assist in the aerial work. Finally Fortune Morake at our Pilanesberg Kiosk got an opportunity as a PWT employee to join us on Rhino work. The Pilanesberg Wildlife Trust will fund all the costs of this operation. Thank you to all our donors and supporters for making this possible.
Keep safe and hope you heal completely. Definitely a warrior rhino.
