Today Keneilwe Nong, Sue Brown and myself met with Kgosigadi Pamela and Kgosi Ezekiel of the Bakubung People. Also with us was Mike, Aaron and Stephen of the Tribal Council. We spoke about the communities they serve, and how the Pilanesberg Wildlife Trust (PWT) and Blankets for Baby Rhinos (BFBR) can assist with orphaned and underprivileged children and the elderly in the Bakubung areas.
They took us to visit 3 really affected homes. We are going to see what we can do to assist and to ease the lives of the people we met as well as the list of orphans the Tribal Council will provide for us. I would like to ask visitors to the Park to please drop off any clothing, shoes, blankets etc., that you don’t need or use. I will set up containers at the gates for this. The BFBR members have been hard at work to make items that will be handed out over the next few weeks as well. A huge thanks to Sue Brown of BFBR and Keneilwe for taking time today to meet with the community.
