The Pilanesberg National Park roads. A nightmare for those with smaller cars. Your pain is shared by all of us. This past week, however, an opportunity arose when a Wheeldozer was operating for one of the Lodges and Steve saw an opportunity to make use of it on the Park gravel roads. And so now a lot of the gravel roads have been graded to a more acceptable standard. Mitre drains have been put in for water flow to go off the road. All of this was sponsored by the Pilanesberg Wildlife Trust. The Wheeldozer is still out there with Japan the operator who is working magic in the Park! Thanks Steve for seeing this opportunity and getting the roads more drivable! The Pilanesberg Wildlife Trust has also purchased another truckload of tar bags for the potholes. I know it’s not the best option but it’s all that we can afford! I wish we had the funds to lay down a beautiful tar or brick road. That would be my dream!!
Please feel free to donate to help us make this park a better place for all. Government does not have any budget so it will be up to the private sector to support where possible. Please remember that the PWT is a public Benefit Organisation (PBO) and we can issue an 18A certificate for donations received. For videos of the roads please view the Facebook Post.
