Mofalodi our new Bathawk arrived late yesterday. Super excited. She comes with a few additions that were not on Serate, and she is night rated. Serate was written off after the unfortunate crash last month. But she played her part over the Pilanesberg which was a great help to our anti-poaching teams.
Look out for Mofalodi over our skies and tree tops as she patrols in Pilanesberg. The aircraft was named Mofalodi after the young rhino calf that spent 4 days alone after her mom was poached in Pilanesberg. After searching for the calf for the 4 days, finding her and rescuing her, she earned the name Mofalodi (survivor) by the Rhino Protection Unit that found her.
To our donors Copenhagen Zoo, our Bahamian supporters (via OSCAP) – Schopper Carts, Katina, Paint Suppiles, and also Blankets for Baby Rhinos, we would like to say thank you for your support! Without it we would not have our ‘eyes in the skies’.
Terry Pappas at Micro Aviation – thanks for the awesome work – she is a beaut. To all that support the Pilanesberg Wildlife Trust and its projects in the Park and surrounds, thank you all.
