Saturday. late afternoon, saw a couple of lightning strikes ignite fires in the Pilanesberg National Park. Staff spent until late yesterday attempting to put it out and finally succeeded. The fire was not intense due to the little rain we did have. The last remaining blocks that were burning, were put out by the rains that came in last night. No animals were found injured or perished. Recovery should be quick with the rains expected in the next few days. Thanks to Debbie of She-Fari Safaris for the donations of drinks and crisps and fruit gums!
