The elephant with a wire around his neck has been attended to. The search has been on and thanks Zander Snyman and Marike for finding him. As it is a large and wild animal, a vet and helicopter are needed to immobilize the elephant and to attend to if it. Before treatment all his buddies need to be pushed to a safe distance away and this was done successfully. Pilot Dolph van der Merwe did a fine job getting this perfectly right. With the injured elephant isolated the vet Dr Gerhardus Scheepers went in to check out the wound, and it was found to indeed be a snare. The snare had created a 360 degree wound all around his neck which was quite deep in areas. The snare was removed and the wound was treated. We all moved away and Dr Scheepers gave the elephant the reversal drug. After waking, the elephant moved away. Hopefully this was all that was needed and he should make a full recovery. Thank you to everyone that assisted!
