Many visitors to the Pilanesberg this weekend will have seen a dead Rhino close to one of the dams. Please note that according to the autopsy done on her right after her passing she was not poached. Her calf that was with her at the time has been moved to a secure location.
The Pilanesberg also lost a bull Rhino this passed week and an autopsy on him showed no bullets, and his horns were still intact as well. He was found by the RPU whilst on patrol in the Park. It is presumed he may have been a victim of a the recent lightning storms we had last week.
